MISSION PRAYER
God our Father
let Your Holy Spirit so inspire us in our faith
as we undertake this time of renewal and outreach,
that we may be open to all that You want to do
in and through us.
May we take every opportunity
to give glory to Your name at this time of mission,
so that the word of the gospel
and the kingdom of God
may be known in our families,
our parish community and this town.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
One God now and for ever,
Amen |
A parish mission will be held between Saturday 2 June and Sunday 17 June 2012 in association with the Sion Community http://www.sioncommunity.org.uk,
the largest Home Mission organisation in the UK.
The organising committee look forward to the whole parish joining in this wonderful opportunity to come together to renew our commitment to supporting each other on our faith journey.
To volunteer for any aspect of the mission contact the parish office: st.dunstan@dabnet.org
Please pray for the success of our mission using our mission prayer on the left hand panel.
Essentially, mission is about relationships with God and our neighbour.
A mission is more than just the services and activities of the church. God is active everywhere in the world within and outside the church, and God calls us to be partners in that activity during the mission and beyond.
|
- We will worship together;
- We will hear, from the Sion community members, about the meaning of mission and what it means in everyday life;
- We will come together socially;
- We will partner with God, the source of all love, to bring people into relationship with God, through Christ.
These activities should help us develop a greater understanding of the nature of mission, and we are invited to respond in a variety of ways depending on our situation.
The parishioners of St Dunstan’s, the wider Christian community in Woking and the people of the town will become partners with God in mission.
