APF - Association for the Propagation of the Faith

This group collects money for the Missions via "red boxes" principally retained in parishioners' homes. New homes for a "red Box" and promoters, to empty a few twice a year are always welcome.

Baptism
The celebration of Infant Baptism (children under the age of five years) is, by prior arrangement, at Sunday Mass or, at a Baptismal Service on the second Sunday of the month at 1.15pm.

CAFOD The Justice and Peace group
CAFOD is the Catholic Church's own charity and raises money to help third world communities support themselves. The Justice and Peace Movement raises awareness of injustice and conflict both at home and abroad and lobbies for fairer treatment of all peoples. The Catenians
This is a lay organisation of Catholic business and professional men encouraging members to meet socially, to share where possible (with justice to others) their business interests and to provide help and support to needy members and their families. Also it assists younger Catholics to find suitable employment.

Catholic Women's League (C.W.L)
This group meets at 8.00pm on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, for prayer, talks and discussions. We also provide help with social activities, social work in Woking and contacting new parishioners.

Children's Liturgy of the Word
Children aged 3-8 have their own Liturgy of the Word at a level they can understand, at Sunday Masses. The children are encouraged to participate in listening and responding to the Gospel. Adults and older teenage helpers would be welcomed for occasional sessions and much help, guidance and material is provided. For more details contact:

Churches Together in Woking
This is the local ecumenical forum through which Christians of different traditions work and pray together in order to grow in understanding of one another and increase their common action. Ministers and lay representatives of local Churches meet four times a year and events organised include Lent discussion groups, Lent Lunches, an Act of Witness in Holy Week and ecumenical services during Christian Unity Week and One World Week. Member Churches also unite to help the wider community.

Coffee, tea and cold drinks and biscuits are provided in the Hall after Mass. There is a rota of helpers.

Community Alert
Community alert is aimed at setting up small local groups within the parish. Each group is co-ordinated by a road warden who will help to keep the parish address list up to date, deliver parish letters and notices to their houses and act as a contact point with other parish services. House Masses and social functions may also be organised. If you would like to be a road warden in your area.

Confirmation
Those who are at least 14 years of age on 1st September (Year 10) are eligible to celebrate the Sacrament and are invited to prepare by joining the parish programme, which starts in the Spring Term.

Gift Aid
All tax-paying parishioners are encouraged to apply for Gift Aid tax relief on their weekly offertory and most retiring collections. This enables the Church to increase the value of these collections by reclaiming tax on their value. Liturgy
A Liturgy Committee, comprising clergy, musical directors and mass co-ordinators, meets regularly to consider the liturgical life of the parish. Special events (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Parish Festival etc) are planned and reviewed.

Marriage Preparation

The Parish Pastoral Team seeks to embrace the whole range of parish life. It takes part in shaping policy and agreeing priorities. Its object is to assist us all to live out the Gospel in our daily lives. Members of the Team each have individual responsibilities in which they are supported by dedicated groups. The Team meets formally at regular intervals throughout the year.

Saint Vincent De Paul Society (SVP).
This group meets in the Presbytery on Tuesdays (8.30pm). Members visit elderly, sick and individuals or families in need; assist in running Woking Night Watch (which aids local homeless people); help to run Community Furniture Store; contribute to SVP work both for the poor in India and the UK. Small Communities and Faith sharing Groups.
Parishioners meet on a regular basis in small groups around the parish to listen to Bible readings, to share their faith based on those readings, to pray together and undertake some form of action. Materials and subjects are provided twice a year when groups meet for up to 5 weeks during autumn (or Advent) and spring (or Lent). At other times each individual group organises itself with whatever frequency it wishes to meet. All parishioners are invited to join a group and this is a wonderful way to meet new people.

Tenancy Support Scheme
St. Dunstan's is part of Woking Churches Tenancy Support Scheme. The scheme assists those who are temporarily homeless to find accommodation in the private sector and enjoy an independent lifestyle.
Generally speaking these are single people who may have low priority on the Council's housing lists. Short term financial support for the payment of rent can be provided to suitable candidates and landlords guaranteed for the proper maintenance of their property.

Babies and Toddlers up to four years of age and their parents are welcome to come along to the hall at St. Dunstan's on Thursday mornings from 10.00am - 12 noon.
