Contact: John Lillis (01483 772077)
Each year, St Dunstan's chorus performs a piece
or pieces of Choral work. The St Dunstan's choir is joined in this venture
by singers from all over the area for practices from early January. The
concert normally takes place just before Easter unless that is early when
a later date is fixed.
In 2005, over 160 singers from the area joined together
in St Dunstan's chorus to perform Handel's Messiah under the baton of
John Lillis. The soloists were Gordana Kostic standing in for 'regular'
Joanna Forbes (Soprano) who was ill, Alex L'Estrange (Counter Tenor),
Simon Wall (Tenor) and John Lillis himself (Bass). Bill Hayward accompanied
the concert.

2005 was the centenary of WAVS (Woking Association
of Voluntary Service) and the concert was given in support of this cause.
As this was an important event in the WAVS centenary
celebrations, the event welcomed the Mayor and Mayoress of Woking , Cllr
Graham and Mrs Sarah Cundy. This was the first
time a serving Mayor has attended the concert.
Concert goers showed their appreciation by generously
donating £891 to WAVS.
