Thank you St Dunstan's... Muchas Gracias!
Dear Frank, Con & Friends at St Dunstan's,
You sent a very generous donation from the Parish Christmas Fair to support
the pastoral needs of the people here in Peru. I said at the time that
I didn;t want to rush into spending the money but to look carefully at
how it could best be used. A significant part of the donation has now
been allocated and all concerned are very grateful and want me to pass
on their thanks.
$1000 has been passed to Bishop Dan to go towards the huge costs of printing
catechetical materials for distribution to all the families of the Diocese
in the coming months. There simply aren't reserve funds available so this
donation is a great help. Bishop Dan writes: "I wish to express my
sincere gratitude to the Parish Community of St Dunstan's for the generous
donation which will serve to reach 80,000 families with catechetical materials
on the Christian life. This year there will be four visits made to all
families and small booklets distributed to help them know the Lord better
and his message of love and dignity"

More locally to where I work (the Parish of Frias) $500 has been given
to Sr Angela, one of the Parish Sisters with responsibility for healthcare.
This will be used to help stock new village pharmacies. With nearly 100
communities in our Parish, many of them very poor and with limited access
to healthcare, these local medicine stocks, and people trained to administer
them, are invaluable. Sr Angela also sends her thanks to the Parish for
this contribution.

In due course I'll keep you informed of how the remainder of the donation
is spent. Once again many thanks and also (equally) for all your prayers
for us here. Hasta luego amigos!
God Bless,
Kevin
